The Lipa Cave, located near the village of Lipa Dobrska, 5 km from the center of Cetinje, stands out as one of the largest cave systems in the region. With a complex labyrinth spanning 2.5 kilometers of passages, corridors and halls, this natural wonder offers a unique underground adventure.

The cave system is rich in geological formations, such as stalactites and stalagmites, formed by mineral deposits from water penetrating through limestone. Its vast net has been the subject of scientific research, revealing a height difference of over 300 meters inside the cave. This vertical expanse testifies to a very long period of formation of the cave. Underground rivers indicate active geological life that continues to shape the interior of the cave.

The date of publication of the first official record of the cave in 1839 is considered relevant, when the English archaeologist Sir Austen Henry Layard (1817–1894) visited it and left a written report on the richness of its decorations. Later, in 1887, the Russian scientist Pavle Rovinsky also wrote about the cave, testifying to the preciousness of the decorations and the unforgettable experience that the cave leaves on visitors. One of the researchers was E. A. Martel, the founder of modern speleology.

The Lipa Cave was officially opened on July 13, 2015, and has been visited by thousands of tourists to date. Open to visitors during the warmer months, the cave offers tours that show off its impressive interior. The tours are adapted to all age groups, making them an interesting event for families, adventurers, and anyone interested in geology or history.

The temperature in the cave throughout the year is between 8 and 12 degrees Celsius - a real refreshment for the summer heat.

To date, 2.5 km of corridors have been explored, and in the meantime, almost 600 meters of the trail have been completed, which can be visited as part of the Basic Cave Tour, which is one of the two official tours offered by Lipska Pećina. As in most adventure places, there is also a section for those who want to learn and discover something more.

Namely, the Adventure Tour involves entering the cave with a rope through one of the entrances about 25 m deep and walking through the hidden side of nature while getting to know what the cave spirit really is.
