Amid the winter gray, the golden yellow mimosa flower is born throughout the “Bride of the Adriatic” and attracts smiles, awakens joy and instills new strength. This year too, our Boka residents are ready to welcome it. By organizing the traditional Mimosa Festival, they are announcing the arrival of spring.
"Herceg Novi calls - feast, sun, sea" is the slogan of this year's Mimosa Festival. From February 14, Herceg Novi will be the source and center of good energy that it will generously spread until March 2.
The popular event will bring us more than 50 cultural, musical, gastronomic, children's and sports programs during this period, and guarantee the possibility of good entertainment for all tastes.
The magic of the mimosa begins on Friday, February 14, when the official opening of the Festival will be announced by a procession of majorettes. The city music, trombone players and members of the "Maskar from Škvere“ will perform to Igalo, where concerts by Ana Bekuta and Hanka Paldum will be held.
For Saturday, February 15, the Mimosa Harvest is scheduled - one of the traditionally most visited events; a festival of mimosa, fish and wine along the Riviera, and Goca Tržan in Baošići, while in the evening a large masquerade ball is being prepared at the Igalo Institute with Indira Levak (ex Colonia). There will also be an open-air concert of Garavi Sokak in Igalo.
A new item on the program is Bokeška ulica - the first competition in making pasta šute at Škvere.
In the following days, you can enjoy the music of Marko Luis, Hari Mata Hari, the Toć ensemble, and have fun participating in the carnival and masquerade ball.
The third weekend marks the concert of Crvena jabuka on the plateau in Igalo. On Saturday, March 1st, the famous carnival trial will take place, for all the bad things that were done to Herceg Novi in 2024, and after that, the icing on the cake awaits us - a concert by the top musician Gibonni on the plateau in Igalo.
In addition to all of the above, this year's Mimosa Festival also offers a three-day Flower Exhibition, a Fish Dinner, theater performances by the Zvezdara Theater and the Small Theater "Duško Radović", literary evenings and exhibitions, a traditional concert by the Sloga Cultural and Artistic Association, as well as a whole range of sports programs.
